东南网澳大利亚站9月14日讯 （本站记者 王慧明）今日上午，中国驻悉尼总领事顾小杰携夫人，在童学军副领事及孙彦涛领事的陪同下，首次走访华人服务社。顾小杰肯定了华人服务社35年来为华人服务所做出的贡献，也给服务社的全体人员带去了中秋佳节的问候和关怀。

在参观高龄颐养院时，顾总领事仔细询问了老人们的身体状况及生活情况，叮嘱老人注意天气变化保重身体。在听到老人们说起自己丰富的业余生活时，顾小杰不禁赞扬道：“老吾老以及人之老，幼吾幼以及人之幼，中国自古以来就有尊老爱幼的优良传统。能看到我们华人在澳洲的土地上颐养天年，要感谢华人服务社对传承与发扬这个优良传统所做出的不懈努力。”

得到顾总领事的肯定，华人服务社董事局主席周波既激动又感动，“华人服务社经过35年的发展，现在已经是本地华人社区里唯一一家提供从培幼到护老服务的福利机构，每星期有超过2，400个家庭使用常规性的服务。去年，服务社还被国侨办授予了“华助中心”和“华社之光”的荣誉称号。这些成绩的取得离不开所有工作人员的辛勤付出，更离不开国家的支持与鼓励。”

为了欢迎顾小杰领事一行的到访，华人服务社的老人们也带来了自己作曲和编排的合唱与舞蹈表演，让整个华人服务中心充满了欢声笑语,暖意洋洋。

The New Chinese Consul General in Sydney Admires Chinese Australian Service Society

14th of September, Gu Xiaojie, the Chinese Consul General in Sydney, visits the Chinese Australian Service Society (CASS), including CASS’s Childcare Center and Residential Aged Care facilities Project.

Gu Xiaojie spoke highly of what CASS has accomplished, “It is Chinese tradition to honor old people as we do our own aged parents, and care for other’s children as our own. I am so glad to see this tradition is inherited greatly by CASS.”

Zhou Bo, Chairman of CASS reported on the programs they have achieved in the past 35 years, “We are proud that we can provide a wide range of welfare services to the community, assisting migrants to settle and integrate into the Australian society. CASS is able to prosper and grow continually because we have the support from all of you.”
